It   is   an   alumina/zirconium   modified   rutile,multipurpose   TIO2   pigment   produced   by   sufate   process.Preciously   process   control, good  particle  size  and  narrow  size  distribution  offer  it  good  whiteness  ,easily  disperse,Low  OA,high  tinting  strength.

THR-218 Rutile Titanium Dioxide (TiO₂) is a rutile-grade white pigment powder designed to deliver strong optical performance in a wide range of formulations. Thanks to its high refractive index, rutile TiO₂ typically provides excellent hiding power (opacity) and high tinting strength, helping finished products achieve higher whiteness, brightness, and gloss with a clean, neutral-to-slightly bluish undertone.

To improve application performance, this type of rutile pigment is commonly engineered with inorganic surface coatings (e.g., silica and/or alumina) and may also receive organic surface treatment. These treatments are intended to enhance wetting and dispersion, reduce oil absorption, and stabilize rheology, which can translate into faster dispersion, more consistent viscosity control, smoother film appearance, and reduced haze in coatings or plastics. Rutile grades are also known for comparatively strong weatherability, heat resistance, and chemical resistance, supporting durability and helping reduce issues such as chalking, discoloration, or yellowing in demanding outdoor or high-temperature applications.

THR-218 can be used in architectural and industrial coatings, powder coatings, coil coatings, wood finishes, printing inks, and plastic masterbatches/compounds (including PVC, PP, PE, ABS, etc.). It is also applicable in papermaking, adhesives, and rubber products where reliable opacity and color strength are required. For best results, pre-wet the pigment with the binder/solvent system, select a compatible dispersant, and use high-speed dispersion or milling to reach the target fineness and maximize opacity and color consistency. Store in a cool, dry place, keep containers tightly sealed, and protect from moisture, heat, and direct sunlight to minimize caking and contamination.
