CR-718 Shandong Xianghai Chloride-Process Titanium Dioxide is a chloride-route rutile TiO₂ pigment, typically supplied as a white powder. Chloride-process rutile grades are generally characterized by lower impurity content, higher whiteness and brightness, and a more stable undertone, enabling strong and consistent performance across a wide range of formulations. In coatings and plastics, CR-718 provides excellent opacity (hiding power) and high tinting strength, helping improve whiteness, brightness, and gloss, while delivering a cleaner base color and improved batch-to-batch consistency.
CR-718 is commonly manufactured with surface treatments, often combining inorganic coatings (such as silica and/or alumina) with organic treatment. These treatments are intended to enhance wetting and dispersion, reduce oil absorption, and improve compatibility with different binder systems. As a result, the pigment disperses faster with less agglomeration, supports more stable rheology, and can contribute to smoother film appearance, lower haze, and better resistance to floating and flooding in coatings. Rutile TiO₂ also offers strong weatherability, heat resistance, and chemical resistance, helping reduce the risk of chalking, fading, or discoloration under outdoor exposure or harsh service conditions, thereby improving long-term durability.
CR-718 is suitable for architectural and industrial coatings, powder coatings, coil coatings, wood coatings, printing inks, and plastic masterbatches/compounds (PVC, PP, PE, ABS, etc.), as well as papermaking, adhesives, and rubber products. For best results, pre-wet the pigment with the resin/solvent system, select a compatible dispersant, and use high-speed dispersion or milling to reach target fineness for maximum opacity and color consistency. Store in a cool, dry place, keep containers tightly sealed, protect from moisture, heat, and direct sunlight, and follow MSDS guidance for safe handling.
